Språkspel (“we”, “us” or “our”) is a language-learning game site. We take your privacy seriously and only collect the minimum information needed to run the service and save your progress.

What we collect

Account information: When you sign up, we store your email address and any display name you choose. If you sign in with Google, we receive the name and email address associated with your Google account.
Learning data: We record your game sessions, the words you have practised, your correct and wrong answers, streaks, and spaced-repetition intervals so we can show you the right words at the right time.
Usage data: We collect basic analytics about how the site is used (for example, which games are played and error reports) so we can fix bugs and improve the experience.

How we use your data

To create and maintain your account.
To save and synchronise your progress across devices.
To personalise which words and levels you see.
To keep daily round limits fair for guest and free users.
To process payments when full access is enabled.
To respond to support requests.

Third-party services

We use a small number of trusted services:

Google OAuth: Used for quick sign-in. Google’s privacy policy applies to the information they provide.
Stripe: Used to process card payments when full access purchases are active. Stripe handles your payment details directly; we do not store full card numbers.
Google AdSense: We display ads through Google AdSense. Google may use cookies or device identifiers to personalise ads. You can manage your ad preferences through Google’s Ads Settings.

Data retention

We keep your account and learning data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your profile and associated learning records within 30 days, except where we are required to keep information for legal or accounting reasons.

Your choices

You can play without an account, but your progress will only be stored locally in your browser and will not be backed up.
You can delete your account at any time by contacting us at the email below.
You can manage or revoke Google OAuth access from your Google account settings.

Children

Språkspel is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of the page. Continued use of Språkspel after changes means you accept the updated policy.
